The author changed the spelling of his first name from "Syunsuke" to "Shunsuke" in 1990. Therefore Syunsuke Uemura is the same as Shunsuke Uemura. This is bacause of the red tape caused by change of the rules to express Japanese pronounciation by Latin alphabets (by the Ministry of Education, Japan).
